Scammers

Scammers. Contacted me through facebook, had a proper conversation with them until the last bit where they asked me if I would take $50 to etransfer money to another “student” because they “can’t issue multiple checks” told them at first that I felt uncomfortable doing that and they stopped responding. Don’t waste your time on these people.

Total scam

Total scam! They asked if I would take a cheque of $1700 and etransfer it to someone else who was “selling books” when they were only going to give me $90 for mine. I said I wasn’t comfortable transferring that much money and they stopped replying.

Fraud - Beware

Update: I finally received payment today, July 2nd. However, I never received any response from company.

Fraud! Never received payment. Mailed in $113 worth of books mid March. They sent me an email on April 22nd stating they received my order and I would get payment shortly. Today is now May 14th, I have sent several emails and received no response.Do not trust this website.

Update, as of today 6/20/2020 I have still received no response and no payment.

I would love to say I had a good…

I would love to say I had a good experience but that's not the case. I mailed my books on April 26th according to the FedEx tracking number they were received April 29th. I checked my account and it says payment was made 5/14. As of June 5th I still have not received payment for my books. The company has not responded to email and there no other contact information. I wouldn't recommend using this company.

Fraud! Never received payment!

I waited the given time frame, it is now far beyond that. I sent several messages regarding the status of my check, I never received a reply and will be reporting this scammer to the authorities.

UPDATE: I finally received my payment, but because of the fact that they did not once reply to my messages and took thrice the processing time, I will keep my review as it is.

If I could give them 0 start I would! Have send books for sale 2 months ago...and never got any payment or even response to several emails! SCAM, this is illegal to be accepting items and not disappearing on a customer!

I sent in two perfect condition…

I sent in two perfect condition textbooks that were the latest editions. Cash4Books quoted a price in the $60s (which was already a lot lower than it should have been.) They have been very slow in receiving my textbooks, they did not sent me an email when they received the textbooks like they said they would, and now I see on my account that they are paying me only $13 for the two textbooks. Remember, they were in perfect condition - no pen/pencil marks, no highlighter marks, no damage, no folded pages, etc. I even checked them out beforehand to see if they are a scam and saw nothing indicating such. But THEY ARE A SCAM!

We hope that the email explanation of instructor's editions/not for resale copies of textbooks that we sent you yesterday makes sense. Your books were in excellent condition, we just could not accept one of the books because it was an instructor's edition, so it's a violation of copyright laws for us to by it. Overall great and would definitely use and recommend

Very easy website to use and very direct - enter the ISBN number, add to cart, check out, mail books, get paid. No hassle and the full amount I was quoted was deposited in my Paypal as soon as the shipment was received (the shipment tracking feature was really helpful and I was paid within hours of delivery!).

My only negative is that I wish they accepted more books. Out of about 20+ books I entered only 4 were eligible to be bought back. Also, accepting other genres than textbooks would be helpful too (i.e. fiction, non-fiction, biographies, etc.).

Not Suggested

Wish no stars was an option. I am a college student and spent my own money on a Statistics textbook that I had shipped out on March 15, 2020 to try to get at least 1/3 of my money back, but I never got my money or even a notice saying my textbook was approved.

After a little over a week of not hearing back, I emailed them on March 27 and the response was that they had closed because of COVID, which was fair and understandable, but they said they would inspect the item I sent in within 10 days and they would get back to me. I received that response on April 6. After not hearing back I sent yet another email on May 1 asking to get an update and the amount I was supposed to receive. They never got back to me again and it's June. This experience was beyond disappointing.

They've had my books for over a month…

They've had my books for over a month now and I've been emailing them and have yet to receive a reply. Seriously considering legal action. Not going to be bullied by some book company!

Lost a book lost money

One of the three books I sent was deemed "counterfeit" not sure why, but I bought that book for $70 regardless and now they're keeping it for free. Or I could pay for the shipping to basically buy it back which is stupid. I wish there was a better system. Like sending pictures or a video before sending the actual book just in case. Otherwise, I do appreciate the free cost of shipping to them.

No Payment - either VERY slow or just Thieves

Sent in books in two shipments back about 2 months ago. Shows paid on site, no money.

Not impressed, doubt I will get anything.

I wasted a lot of time looking through the few books they would accept for basically pennies to be further insulted by no payment this far out. Sell them on eBAY or throw them away.

I will update this if I receive any. I have emailed their customer service but not hopeful based on what I read here.

Great experience

Great experience!
Excellent communication and service.
Super easy to send in and just wait for them to receive and process your transaction. Then Boom! Some extra money in your account.
It does take some time, but better than just donating your old textbooks to Goodwill! :)

Brand new text book still wrapped…

Brand new text book still wrapped deemed counterfeit!? My husband gets these straight from the schools he attends and teaches classes for. Be careful, I think this business may not be reputable. Will follow with update if we actually get our book back or not.

A Sweet and Humane process

Such a sweet and humane process. I used your services successfully in 2011 and am so pleased to discover you are still providing this incredible service. You make it easy to part with books I love. Clear instructions, prepaid labels for shipping and the sense that books I have enjoyed will go to other book lovers.

Loved that you've added an app for scanning codes. That will make my next big project go much more easily.

I will NEVER use this company ever …

I will NEVER use this company ever again and I'll be sure that anyone else I know doesn't either. If I could give no stars that would absolutely be my option. I returned a book the day after I received it due to having so much trouble with them just getting the book to me I no longer needed it. They email me three months later and tell me they will not be issuing me a refund because it didn't arrive in time and that they will be donating it. This is an $80 book that I didn't even open so now I'm out $80 and a book!

due to a "technical error," they wanted…

due to a "technical error," they wanted to send me my books back. As a professional book reseller, this almost never happens. they only cost me about $100, but it could've been worse. I will not be working with this company again.

Fraud

I sent my books in March and still haven’t received payment. I have emailed them several times. I did get one response and was told they were behind due to covid 19. I was more than understanding. Now I get no response and the customer service phone number doesn’t work.

Took over 2 months to get my payment…

Took over 2 months to get my payment and did not communicate with me at all. If you are not in a rush to receive payment and love bad customer service and no communication, sell your books here.
