Some games are awesome some obviously are not and why I say that is 1 some games don’t have cash prizes 2 the baseball game on my phone I can’t speak for anybody else but it has a timing problem sometimes where the bat doesn’t swing when you hit the swing button and the pairing of opponents I understand but let’s say that person has played before and had to open a new account for whatever reason and u get paired with that person and they blow you out the water if that happens I feel like the new player should at the least get a free rematch or their money back. And I was aborted from a game quite a bit of times and got my refund except for the last one that I’ve been trying to get back for 2 days now they keep saying we will get with you in 24 hrs we’ll that hasn’t happened so I’m a little upset with that process and had a game that’s been holding a 10$ prize for 7 days and the “handbook” says I’ll get my entry fee back and no dice so far but if u just wanna have fun it’s got great games if u want to make money be careful of the games you choose

Disgusted

I’ve been playing skillz games for a couple of months winning some and losing some. Winning more than i was losing but when it a 2/3 payout you have to be winning a lot more than losing or you won’t make money and slowly lose. I was cool with that. I understood and at my skill level I lost a couple hundred the first month but still I knew what was up and chose to continue. The last couple of days I have been winning 70-80% of the games I played finally getting some money back still negative in grand total but up for the week and they shut down my account without giving me a reason and will not respond to any of my emails. They stole everything i had in my account on there without giving any of that back. All I got was a generic email saying i broke one of the rules i agree’d and included all of the rules to look through. I read through it and there was not a rule on there i broke. I haven’t done anything differently this entire time i’ve played. They didn’t have any issue when i was losing but once you develop a pattern of winning they term you and still take all you money. Impossible to make money if you can only be on the app if your losing money. STAY AWAY and if you’ve had a similar experience join me in reporting this scam to the BBB.

There is one really cool feature about this app: top replay (for some of their more popular apps). Other than that, it was mostly disappointing. There are low res images throughout the UI, so not enjoyable to look at. There is no where to go and get player generated match codes for games that don’t have a chat (which I only bring up because they have restricted the limited apps that do have the chat feature to only sharing match codes for their game alone). Also, they still don’t list all the Skillz games. Their link to discover new games takes you out of the app to their website that only shows maybe 30% of the games available. So we can no longer mention in chat other games we’re playing, and then Skillz doesn’t even show all the games on their site. What’s even worse, their website still showcases games that are no longer available. 🤦🏼‍♀️ I expected so much more from this app.

Players BEWARE!!

Skillz has recently been removing player’s accounts and banning them from ever playing Skillz again stating they had broken one of their rules; yet when the players respond inquiring about which rule they broke, Skillz “support” will not respond to them. Also, Skillz says anyone can volunteer to be a chat moderator. But what they do not tell you is, they have qualifications on who they allow to be chat moderators. When I volunteered, I got a response saying they reviewed my account & have decided to “decline” me being a chat moderator as I don’t meet their qualifications. Yet, when I asked what those qualifications are, they tell me that they do not disclose that information and threatened to delete my account if I kept volunteering (I only volunteered twice). Skillz is sketchy; play for coins only, because if you play for money & you’re legitimately a good player who wins a lot, they WILL accuse you of cheating and ban you from ever playing Skillz games and even threaten to peruse legal action against you for money laundering if you try & make another Skillz account after being banned. They’ll probably ban me for this review. 🤦‍♀️

With regards to becoming a Chat Moderator, to ensure our chatrooms are safe and friendly with proper moderation and engagement, every player must be in good standing and without violation for being muted/banned or having multiple accounts. Every interested player/applicant also gets reviewed by multiple Support teams to make sure they are a good fit for the role. Sorry, you were not accepted but thank you for applying and wanting to create a great Skillz Community!

Terrible terrible terrible customer service

This game doesn’t even deserve a one star. The dominoes game has such terrible crash rates and malfunction rates and they refuse to give refunds when it happens I screenshot everything as it starts to happen and then I report it and after a few crashes their standard response comes to me saying that I exceeded their average crash rate and I can’t get a refund again for another month, well obviously this shows that they have serious issues with this game and they should not be allowing people to play it if it’s just going to crash and take their money it also has a glitch where the screen gets all screwed up before you even start, and I screenshot that Because I can’t even play the game doesn’t even load correctly and I have still exceeded their quota from their standard automated email response. I like to play the game and it’s a shame that they rip people off so much and there’s nothing you can do except stop playing which is what I’m gonna do.

Once a player's level of crashes becomes excessively high, we stop refunding for crashed matches. I understand why this decision may seem unfair, but this policy strives to be fair to players while dissuading those who might try to take advantage of match refunds.

No for travelers or to make money

If you travel, you will get flagged every month or so for changing locations. Then need to get thru all the auto responses to find a human to fix it. As a long haul trucker I find it very annoying. It’s happened to me over a dozen times and it’s unfathomable that a company this huge can’t fix the issue.

This is a big reason I stopped depositing real money a while back. They seem to time the flagging to keep you from getting too high on the leader board.

Secondly, you need to win 60% of your games to break even. And the algorithm is set for you to win 50%. They will hold games for days in order to match you to a higher score if you stray too far over 55% But it is possible to enjoy all their fun games and break even if you don’t bet too much and trade your tickets for bonus cash

Don’t waste your time

I have played my fair share of money games, so it’s safe to say I understand how it works normally and I’m very patient with their regulations etc. but no company is as worse as this company. They would not let me get into any games on my first account, it kept saying “error” so I decided to put in a request to delete that account, account got deleted…Then I made a new one, and the same thing happened. On top of that, They are wrongfully accusing me of having two devices. My husband and I both play games and I believe they have also banned his account because they are accusing us of being the same person based off of us sharing wifi connection or being in the same location.. I have followed all the rules, there should not be a reason why this is happening.. These games are not even worth a single second of your time, they will just take your money, and they will ban you so you don’t win any money. BIG SCAM.

They’ve taken away the stuff that made it fun

I’ve been a player for a little over a year. I’ve read the TOS and FAQ’s and so I understand how it all works.
I’ve won prizes and cash/ gift cards. This is legitimate! However, they’ve stopped doing all the things that made it fun and made me want to keep playing.
The games are fun by themselves, but the monthly trophy events they used to have would make me want to KEEP playing those games to earn the bonus cash. They’ve completely stopped those. I only play a handful of matches now before I get bored. The daily events are always won by the same people, which is fine, good for them! But I know not to waste more than one or two entries into those. Oh well I guess it’s just saving me time and money. I just used to enjoy that part of it.

Algorithm, Moderators, and Censorship

The game has a rigged algorithm, you can win a few games, but will loose more, on a very distinct pattern. Additionally, they have employee/moderators who play to counteract wins as well as censor chat to ensure no one talks about the game being rigged or refer to it as a scam. When I asked about the policy in chat, after a moderator claimed she had to mute multiple people on the chat thread, she said it was policy to mute any player that states that the game is a scam or rigged. When I asked about the censorship policy she said even asking questions about that policy would get me silenced.

So while they claim to have fair gaming, the censor anyone who says otherwise. If it was truly fair, there would be no reason to censor users for claiming otherwise. Even if their algorithm fairly matches people, the moderators are thrown into the mix to counter the chance someone could have more loses than wins. This isn’t fair gaming practices and leads to the scam.

Horrible Changes. No more money from me

It was fun while it lasted. Dishonest pairings, very rare that players are paired at time of game ; even though several are verified online (chat rooms). This causes players to pay for games but have to wait for any winnings. So basically depleting cash or Z’s, forcing you to pay for games every time. Not cool. I can’t afford to constantly feed the games cash. At least we could play with Z’s and still get tickets. Not anymore. They took away the tickets when playing with Zs. The changes to the ticketing system was the final straw. They also increased the amount of tickets it costs for prizes. I may as well go to Vegas. The greed left a bad taste. I will no longer participate in the paid games.

The developer response amuses me on some of these. They are clearly not reading them haha. One guy said “ripoff” and the reply was to contact support.
